Portsmouth Music Festival 2012

Two of the Academy's Greek groups performed in the Gala Concert at The Kings Theatre in Southsea on 25 March:

- The Prayer (won the Chairman's Cup)

The Academy had a very successful day at ArtsDepot on 8 May 2011. Congratulations to all the students who took part.

Southampton Stage Dance Festival 2010

Congratulations to all the students who did so well at the Festival.

Our groups performed magnificently as follows:

Choreography Competition 2008

The Academy's 2008 Choreography Competition was held in the Main Hall of Brookfield School on Sunday 14 December. Our guest adjudicator was actress/singer/dancer Miss Helen Anker, whose impressive cv you may peruse at her website www.helenanker.com.

Miss Anker found it very difficult to choose winners because the standard was so high, but first places were awarded to:

Junior Stage - Alison Shepherd (Orange Coloured Sky)

Intermediate Stage - Georgia Hamorak (Everybody Dance Now!)

Intermediate Classical - Tamara Goddard & Georgina O'Hare (Music of the Night)

Senior Stage - Lauren MacKay & Abigail Talmondt (Tap Duet)

Best Project - Four Seasons (Natasha Caulfield, Georgia Hamorak, Phoebe Hind & Jessica Thomas)

Personality Cup - Mollie Richardson

Costume Design Cup - Tamara Goddard & Georgina O'Hare (Phantom of the Opera)

In the afternoon Miss Anker led two Jazz/Tap Workshops and the following pictures are of the Junior and Senior classes:

At the Southampton Festival (24 May - 1 June) Academy pupils gained many trophies, places and marks qualifying them to enter the 2009 All-England competition. A signed Pompey shirt (kindly donated by Arjan de Zeeuw) was auctioned at the summer show on Saturday 16 July for the magnificent sum of £160 which was included in our contribution to the "Peggy and Friends" charity.

Together with the raffles (for prizes donated by many local businesses and individuals), were we able to send a total cheque for £815 to the charity.

The Principal congratulated the following pupils who successfully auditioned for places at prestigious schools to start in September 2005:
